2025 Loftness Orchard Spreader OS170

The OS170 spreader from Loftness® meets the needs of modern orchards and vineyards. That’s because it has a higher capacity, lower profile and narrower width than other spreaders on the market. It spreads dry material with superior precision and offers stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance. Not to mention, it provides the durability and reliability that producers have come to expect from Loftness products.

The OS170 can be equipped with a hydraulic conveyor drive for variable rate applications. Add a controlled spinner drive to automate performance even more. So whether you want to load a prescription or manually change rates on the go, this spreader offers everything you need to apply fertilizer exactly where you want it.

At only 56.4 inches tall, the OS170 leads the industry with its low profile, allowing it to easily travel under tree branches. Despite the lower profile, the spreader has one of the highest capacities with the ability to carry up to 80 cubic feet of material.

Additionally, a hopper width of 48.7 inches and tire width of only 50.1 inches allows the OS170 can operate efficiently in some of the narrowest spaced plantings.

The OS170 can be equipped with a hydraulic conveyor drive to make it variable rate ready. This allows the operator to increase or decrease the spread rate on the go. A prescription load rate can also be written into the monitor to control how much fertilizer should be applied to each part of an orchard or vineyard. If one area needs more nitrogen than another, for instance, the fertilizer rate will adjust automatically according to the GPS position.

The controlled spinner drive option works in conjunction with a speed sensor, allowing the operator to set the desired spinner speed from the cab to match the desired spread width. Simply enter the desired spinner speed, and the spinners will adjust automatically to the programmed speed.

• The OS170 comes standard with a mechanical conveyor drive with hydraulic shut-off. It can also be equipped with a rope pull shut-off, or both hydraulic and rope shut-off.

• The hopper is constructed of 409 painted stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance. All other areas exposed to continuous fertilizer contact are made from stainless steel as well, such as the 304 stainless steel conveyor chain.

• Dual stainless steel spinners produce a consistent spread pattern up to 25 feet wide on the standard model.

• The dual stainless steel spinners come standard with hydraulic drive.

• The hitch has an adjustable clevis to accommodate a wider range of drawbar heights, and allows for leveling of the spreader.
