2025 Loftness Side Discharge Crop Shredder 240
Baling corn stover has never been simpler. The unique, practical design of Loftness’ Side Discharge Windrower uses the airflow generated by the shredder knives to create a vortex that carries material to the side discharge. No belts to maintain. No augers to unplug. Just a simple, effective concept that harnesses the power of air to convey shredded material to the discharge chute. The side delivery allows you to place two windrows next to each other, so you can cut your baling passes in half.
Air of SuperiorityThe Loftness® Side Discharge Windrower features a patent-pending design that uses the powerful airflow from the shredder knives to convey shredded material to the discharge. This simple, yet effective, design significantly reduces the number of moving parts on the machine. This reduction in moving parts greatly reduces costly maintenance and downtime as well as reducing the occurrence of material plugs, bridging and wrapping that are possible with belt and auger style windrowers.
The Side Discharge Windrower works by creating a vacuum effect through the spinning of the 4.5-inch cupped knives. This suction helps lift residue into the knives for effective cutting performance, while helping to minimize the amount of dirt entering the machine. The powerful airflow coming off the knives is channeled by our patent-pending wing design to create a spinning air vortex that keeps the product suspended and carries it down the length of the wing to the discharge chute.
Keep Plugging AwayWindrowers that use augers to convey material are well known for plugging. However, Loftness minimizes plugging with a free-flowing tunnel design. That means you can keep plugging away to cover more acres.
Suck It UpThe Side Discharge Windrower’s unique rotor knife pattern is designed to produce increased suction and enhance chop efficiency. Greater suction means you can operate a bit higher to reduce the risk of striking hidden objects and helping keep the windrow cleaner.
Lift Your RearA hydraulic rear lift and ratchet jack allow precise height and tilt adjustment for maximizing performance.
Two Windrows Are Better Than OneThe side discharge allows you to double the size of your windrow by tightly placing two windrows next to each other in one round. Compared with a center discharge windrower, it can cut your baling passes in half. Plus, no raking is needed, which helps keep the windrows clean.
Features may include:
20-Foot Cutting Width- The Side Discharge Windrower has a 20-foot cutting width. When two windrows are placed side-by-side, you can bale 40 feet at a time.
- The rotor is equipped with 4-1/2-inch-wide cupped knives that maximize suction and provide the airflow needed to move the shredded material.
- The specialized wing hydraulically folds for compact transport and storage.
- The 37-inch side discharge features an adjustable deflector. The deflector rods can be easily raised to create a narrow windrow or lowered for a wider windrow.
- Included flow deflectors help direct shredded material into a neatly placed windrow at the side of the unit.
- The position of the rear wheels can be adjusted for various row spacings. For best results, the wheels should ride between the rows. The wheels are factory set for 30-inch row spacing.
- A four-groove banded belt and spring-loaded push-type idler system provide efficient transfer of power.
